If I found a hurt duck, I'd be tempted to adopt him. In fact, a couple of months ago I was at my gym, which happens to be next to a large lake, and there was a duck sitting alone in the parking lot. I thought that was odd behavior for a duck and wondered if he needed help. So I drove up to him, and he didn't move, and I rolled down my window, and he didn't move. Then I opened the car door and he ran off. Which I still think is odd behavior for a duck (if I was a duck, I'd fly off), but it was cold and dark our so I didn't follow him. And I figured my husband woudln't be all that excited if I tried to adopt a duck. He's patient enough with my current pet dove which was either adopted or stolen out of nature, however you want to look at it. It was a dang cute duck though - black and fluffy looking.
However, if myself or someone in my family had already taken active measures to kill the duck, and the duck had already been moved into the category of "food." Even if it came back to life, I'd try to send it back to the food category as quickly as possible. And going back to Bacon Boy's comment, if a mostly dead duck had been in my fridge for two days, I might go ahead and clean the rest of the fridge out.
