Great state that Texas. Full of patriots. HQ of most U.S. Armored divisions. Hot cheerleaders too. But it's also the home of the Dallas Cowboys :-(

As the comedian Ron White points out about Texas in his routine, "Not only does my state have the death penalty, we're creating an express lane!"
NJ also has some pretty repressive gun laws. Most states recognize a conceal/carry permit from other states - not New Jersey. You get pulled over on the interstate with a registered weapon and license to carry it and they call SWAT. You go to jail and your gun gets destroyed and THEN you get to call a lawyer.

How are travelers supposed to know that? I once took a trip with a girl friend and she carried a handgun - she and her husband had many guns and she was very proficient. I felt all safe and cozy knowing she was armed.
