The midnight showing of Watchmen was fantastic! AMC ended up opening a second theater to deal with the turnout, which was pretty good. I've never been to a midnight showing, and hadn't read any of The Watchmen, but I have to say I had a blast. The special effects are awesome. The story is very good. There wasn't an easter egg so we sat through the credits for not much more than hearing more of a terrific soundtrack. Most definately, I would see it again. (Although I'm dragging a bit since it's nearly a 3 hour movie and I wake up at 5:45 a.m. ) Anyone else see this movie yet?

Haven't seen it or any previews, but I did read a review this morning that said it was worth seeing.

I saw it as well. It was very good but my brother didn't like it. I tried telling him that it wasn't a "comic book" movie like Spiderman or Superman. It has a lot of dialogue and long visual camera shots, which are amazing, but not a ton of action. However, the action that is in the movie is excellent. I give it an "A".

funny, but the local critics here are giving it 1 1/2 - 2 stars. Older son (23) saw it and said it was pretty good, but no appropriate for the younger one (12) due to sex and nudity...

Definitely not for little kids, especially the violence. It's gets pretty graphic.

You know, the only thing I didn't like about it was that the cast were pretty much all "no-names". I just felt that with a movie of that caliber it would have had some huge stars in it. I mean, did the director want no-names? Because I'm pretty sure some big stars would have loved to have attatched their name to a project like that.

I have read that some big names were at one time associated with this movie but due to the length of time it took to get the movie into production, the big names dropped out. Some of the big names I read were Tom Cruise and Jude Law. While none of the leads are A listers, I am familiar with most of them.

Corky, go potty beforehand. It's a very long movie and I didn't want to miss anything.

I think I'll opt for the "potty before the movie" choice - thanks for your suggestions anyway

No, you should potty "during" the movie. Theatres are typically cold...this would keep your seat warm for a while and would also prevent people from wanting to get too close to you, thus allowing you to spread out and be comfortable.

I went and watched this movie with my husband and it was not what I expected at all. I watched a good portion of it peeking through my fingers cause I had to keep my hands over my eyes.
