See a picture of where you grew up.

Check out some of your old haunts. When you enter an address you will see a picture of that place. There's a little map with a little man on it - you can move the little man up and down the block if you need to. I just looked at my childhood home and am still in shock! Really nice website! If the street is active, put your cursor in the middle of the street, when you get an oval, double click to move down the street. Move to the right and left to see houses on the street.

It's just Google Street View. You can do the same thing by going to Google Maps, typing in your address choice and grab the little orange man and drag him onto the map to any street with blue lines. (You can't see the blue lines until you drag the street view guy over to the map.)

This vpike site appears to be using Google to create traffic. Oh well, to each his own, I suppose.

No. It's based on photos taken at some point in the recent past. When I look at my house via google maps, I can approximate when the picture was taken by how many boats are in the water, status of construction on certain lots, etc.

Oh, OK... I did just notice that the sun is behind my house, when at this time it would ordinarily be in the front. Nice pic of my house, tho' ...

I made the mistake last summer of pulling off the highway and driving through my old neighborhood when on the way back from a Long Island Beach. It looked like a warzone in my old neighborhood, and the google device in post 1 does nothing to indicate it. The area is a pure eyesore.

My parents still live there. Looking at it, I still wonder how all 4 of us kids plus my parents fit in the house

This is interesting. The picture was taken in the fall, early October, just before Construction on the street began. They now have curb and gutter

I can see my childhood home from the window at the end of the hallway here at work. I can also see my old elementary school. I have never lived outside of a 5 mile circle in my home town. My sisters and parents are within that circle as well. Maybe I should get out more

nothing wrong with living a stones throw from where you grew up, especially if your family is close. I'm 500 miles from where I spent the first 14 years of my life, but have been in the same place since. My wife is 5 minutes from all 3 siblings and her mother (there are more minuses than pluses in this arrangement...)

This is way cool! My parents had that house built. Neat to be able to see it from so far away!
