Quarterback Carson Palmer has said he no longer wants to play for the Cincinnati Bengals, according to a WCPO-TV report Tuesday.

The two-time Pro Bowler and former Heisman Trophy winner reportedly told a confidant: "I will never set foot in Paul Brown Stadium again."

Palmer is also quoted as saying: "I have $80 million in the bank. I don't have to play football for money. I'll play it for the love of the game but that would have to be elsewhere. I'm prepared to live my life."

Eagles signed Michael Vick to a one year contract today (heard it on the radio - don't follow football)

Well even if he plays for another team, there is the possibility he will have to step foot in that stadium..

Both Palmer brothers have said they won't play for the Bengals. I've said I won't root for the Bengals. I'm going to be going back to my roots and rooting for Da Bears!

Mike Brown is the worst owner in all of professional sports. He hasn't got a clue of how to win, and has made it clear that he doesn't think the franchise has a problem.

Somewhere in the middle
I think Carson would look good in Denver or Tennessee.

Personally, I would trade him to Cleveland or Detroit or some other perennial loser.

I don't know much about Al, but at least he has personality, unlike Brown.

Well, of course, where do you think he banked most of that $80MM?!

He stopped playing football for the Bengals several years ago. Not sure what he's been doing out on the field the past several seasons, but I wouldn't call it football. smile

I think that applies for the entire Cincinnati program.

Exactly! Palmer has been lousy for years. How is that the Owner's fault? And I'm sure he has never offered to take a pay cut in order to afford a better supporting cast, or better facilities.

It was all downhill for him after the Steelers Kimo Von Oelhoffen made an intentional dirty hit (insert eye roll smiley) that tore up Palmer's knee. He was a sure hall of famer and the Bengals would have had multiple Super Bowl titles if not for that...

Actually, Palmer has taken pay cuts to support a cast. He took a pay cut to keep TJ Whosyomomma, and then the Bengals let TJ go anyway. He's not the problem. The lack of an offensive line that has a clue about pass blocking is the problem, and that stems from the owner insisting on ignoring a problem in the trenches to sign guys who "score points". Well, they don't score points if you can't protect your quarterback.
