So, what'd everyone think?
Is this going to be a new thing? Would you pay to go to a virtual concert? I think I would. Not as much as I would for a live concert, but maybe at a cheaper, smaller venue.
Is this going to be the next big thing? Will there be a new Beatles tour in the next decade? Or is this just a one time thing--like that one Nat King Cole duet with his daughter that was just sort of cool as a one time thing, but didn't spark a new genre of dead/alive duets.

i wouldn't waste money to see him when he was alive, why would I want to watch a holgram of his terrible sound (can't bring myself to refer to this noise as music).

I read when the hologram first popped onstage, everyone in the whole place kind of gulped and kept quiet - nobody was sure what was going on. I imagine that was startling, thinking maybe he hadn't *really* died or something.
As I said in the other thread, there are some interesting legal questions that are going to come out of this. Are performers now going to need to add this kind of thing to their estate planning and contracts?
I have to think that there are at least going to be questions from advertisers wanting to use various holograms for marketing. When it isn't friends or family that have control of the rights to the image, I think it could get really bizarre. For example, James Dean's image is owned by a corporation. Is it only a matter of time before we see "James Dean" hawking cars at a car show?
And what about stars who can't or just don't want to tour? Are they going to be able to record a hologram to do that for them?

I wonder if I can create a hologram of myself and live vicariously through it like in that Bruce Willis movie.

I never got to see Pac perform when he was alive. Depending on the pricing and location, I might go.

Out on bail, fresh out of jail, California dreaming Soon as I stepped on the scene I'm hearing hoochies screamin' Fiending for money and alcohol The life of a Westside player, where cowards die And it's all war Only in Cali where we riot, not rally to live and die In LA we wearing Chucks, not Ballys (that's right...) Dressed in locs and khaki suits and ride is what we do Flossing but have caution; we collide with other crews Famous 'cause we programme worldwide

The rumor is that Dre and Snoop are planning a tour with the virtual pac. I read when the hologram first popped onstage, everyone in the whole place kind of gulped and kept quiet - nobody was sure what was going on. I imagine that was startling, thinking maybe he hadn't *really* died or something.
Yeah, and there's been conspiracy theories about him faking his death since the funeral. Add a little Coachella buzz and a less than clear viewing angle--I bet a good % of the crowd thought he was finally making his comeback.
