Do any of the rural BOLers have this highspeed internet service? It is limited to just a few locations as it is in Beta.

If so, what are your thoughts? What cap do you have and what all do you run with it (i.e. Netflix, Hulu, etc.)?

Not even heard of it - I live out in the country and we have a Verizon hotspot. We only get 3G, but that is adequate for what we need most of the time.

No, it feeds off of their 4G wireless network. Most claim an average 12-15MB downstream and 5ish upstream with minimal latency issues. Not great compared to most suburban options but it is great for rural applications. It is designed to compete with hughesnet and other providers.

We use Verizon Wireless at home, but we've used so much that it is costing a lot of $$$$ each month. Thinking about switching to our local internet provider and setting up a wireless system thru them. They say that the fastest they go is 22MB - is that good?

That is fast walden. 15 mibs is fast, which is usually what cable offers. DSL is about 2 mibs. So the 4G at 12-15 sounds pretty good.

I noticed the cell phone companies are also raising their data plans by dropping minimums. Rascals, all of them!

22MB is plenty fast for all personal applications. At our house now we get 25 through ATT U-verse. Unfortunately, the move to the farm means limited options going forward.

HomeFusion has a different pay scale then their Jetpack service. HF uses a 10GB for $60, 20GB for $90 and 30GB for $120 option. Their jetpack service caps at 10GB for $80.

I had hoped someone could weigh in with experience. I have asked elsewhere so hopefully I can find someone that has it.

She is doing great! She is one month old today. It is amazing how much she has grown already. She is off the charts in height, 80% in weight and 50% in head. It is almost time for her first haircut. She has a head full of thick, long brown hair.
