Lolo Jones trying to do color on track stuff sounds like she has marbles in her mouth.

funny you say this...i've heard this multiple times - not just about Lolo but people from the south in general to describe how people from the south talk...i guess it sounds normal to me growing up hearing it

I think they are all over-rated...they sit and tell you what you are watching...

I'm from the South....it isn't a Southern drawl i hear (Lolo is from Iowa).....it's motor-mouth syndrome.

ETA: I've heard Lolo talk, like when being interviewed, and she's pretty understandable. She gets on air as a color announcer though and i guess the nerves kick in......she's completely incoherent.

I agree with raitch-McCarver stinks. Buck has good knowledge but comes off arrogant.

Aikman is good-Phil Simms and Jim Nantz are pretty good also.

The ex-basketball players trying to do analysis are way overrated.

I think there is a difference between overrated and annoying. Telling me things I already know (McCarver) is annoying, listening to people go ape crud crazy about an average play (Gus Johnson) is annoying. I think overrated is someone like Brent Musburger, he gets the national game on ESPN/ABC and isn't their best announcer. Rece Davis or Brad Nessler are both better IMHO.

Verne Lundquist - they show him too much and he looks like his head is going to explode

John Madden when he would play connect the dots or color by numbers on the screen

I forget the announcer but he used to play center...and in just about every play he would highlight the great work done by the center..

I always though Lynn Swann was a class announcer

Joe Buck thinks he is great because he's confused himself with his father, who was a great announcer.

Kelly Tilghman, on the Golf Channel, through no fault of her own, irritates me, only because she was one of the voices in the Tiger Woods golf video game, and every time I'd hit a bad shot, I'd have to listen to her sarcastic remarks. "I don't think I've ever seen a shot that bad." "What was he thinking?"

I never liked Howard Cosell and I can't stand Charles Barkely! He is just plain arrogant and can't even pronounce players names correctly!

Baseball Announcers (radio) I like Marty Brennaman, no one calls it like he does.

I like listening to Kirk Herbstreet (spell?) I hate that he has to put up with the old guy Brent Muskyburger.

I like Herbie a lot too!
