Pulling people out of the ditc...

The last great opportunity for a 3-day weekend with great weather has passed, I hope everyone spent it wisely. Rode my bike, did some yardwork, rearranged a couple of rooms in the house, cut some firewood, washed my car, watered my yard, watched it rain 10 minutes after i finished...

I was on vacation last week so it seemed like I was away from work for an eternity. Now - back to the REAL world. Ugh!

Changed the filter and adjusted the front and rear bands in my transmission. Washed 5 dogs. Mowed about 5 acres of yard. Washed 2 of the horses. Helped change rear brake pads. Washed 1 truck and 2 cars. And a lot of other little things...now I'm back at work to get some rest?

Spent the whole weekend with the hubs and family. Yes, we actually like one another.

Ditto doing the whole lot of nothing. My little girl got LOTS of snuggle time with daddy. I did mow, trim, power wash the house, water the yard, and carried the fall boxes from basment to living room for my wife.
Overall, a great weekend!

Bought carpet and padding, went fishing, rented carpet stretcher, went to a baseball game, installed tack strips on concrete floor, went fishing, went to a family picnic, took doors down, installed carpeting, touched up paint where the carpeting scratched the wall and baseboard, reinstalled doors, removed door, trimmed door, reinstalled door, installed window blind.

Went to Annapolis to see my son in the DCA World Championships, one more day til work! I thought it was DCI, or is that a competing one? My dad is a huge DCI fan, as has spent more than 1 vacation following the competitions around. Back in the day he used to perform when they lived in upstate NY, but I don't recall who with (he still has the heavy wool uniform in ugly green and white, and his trumpet).

Took the family to Fall Creek Falls State Park in Tennessee. Had a great time. Saw five of the six waterfalls in the park, went horseback riding and generally took it easy.
