Pulling people out of the ditc...
motley crue - horrible big hair band
country music - horrible twangy singing

put the 2 together, and you have the Nashville Outlaws - a Tribute to Motley Crue. Possibly the worst musical idea since disco, Vanilla Ice, the macarena, Sinead O'connor, Michael Bolton, or Milli Vanilli...

If you think this is a bad pairing of sound, you should check out Big Smo. He tries to rap country style. eek

I'm pretty much out on any recording person (I cant even say "artist") that has a name that starts with "Big" or "Lil".
It just always seems to be an indicator of a problem and I can determine size on my own, thank you very much!

I'm not against country/rap. Some of Colt Ford's stuff is really good. Where Big Smo lost me was having a TV show to try to gain fans for his music. If his music is good fans will spread the word and he'll reach more people. I can't take him serious when it all seems like a gimmick.

I haven't heard the country crue songs yet but I'd be willing to give them a try.

Colt Ford has some good looking extras in his videos though...

Isn't there a band called Hayseed Dixie that did the same thing with AC/DC music?

I was flipping through radio channels and heard the country version of Home Sweet Home Friday afternoon. It was awful!

Can't stand the mixing of country with Motley or any of the Rock. The Coutnry Cross Roads they do on CMT, drives me nuts.

I like Country, I like Rock, just don't mix them.

I remember way back when Country Rock was a new thing. Eagles, Poco, Pure Prairie League, Outlaws.

I love Motley Crue's version of Home Sweet Home, but it also holds a lot of memories for me... a very difficult time in my life and my best friend and I loved Theatre of Pain and had crushes on the guys... helped me get through some stuff I suppose.

The stereo substitutes for the TV at our house. I'm so out of style that I don't even attempt to keep up with the current state of pop music. At our house we just keep spinning mostly mid-'60s to about 1980 rock, both CDs and the old vinyl. We like classical music as well as "classic" rock. It may be Cream one moment and Chopin the next.

Don't do country, or rap, and certainly no rap country!

A friend of mine noted this week that Nashville must have the worlds largest concentration of hearing impaired.
