My gym isn't a CrossFit affiliate, but we will be doing the Murph on Monday. Anyone else? It's a great workout to put into perspective the sacrifice given by those we honor on Memorial Day.

My gym isn't a CrossFit gym either but we did a modified Murph on Wednesday. I finished
3/4 mile fun
100 rows
200 push-ups
300 squats
3/4 mile run
in 50 minutes. I bet it's our workout tomorrow. I'm going to try to increase my run and drop my time. It brings Memorial Day into focus!!

I did Murph for the first time last year, it was great! I hope to work in a modified version at the lake this weekend.

The Murph sucks. But that's part of it. Wanting to quit and remembering that some Vet paid the ultimate price. They couldn't quit. They didn't get to go home and eat burgers and drink beer.

I love the hero workouts.

I assume Murph did them in a single setting. We ran then did the strength portions in sets of 25 then finished with the run. That workout confirmed to me that I need to do more pushups. I was STRUGGLING!!

I don't know the Murph but I find it difficult to believe that most people can do 200 push ups in a single setting. I know pro body builders who live this stuff and they couldn't do that.

I could see it done over a period of time as many work out courses have something similar.

I did Murph on Saturday at a Crossfit Affiliate. ACB...to answer your question...there is a large group of athletes that do it straight through with a weight vest. It's very impressive. I broke mine up and due to heat and hills was slower than last year...

1 mile run
100 pull ups (jumping from a box)
200 push ups (on my knees after the first 40)
300 air squats
1 mile run

I did the middle segmented...we started with 10, 20, and 30 but after 5 rounds the 20 push ups was taking too much time to complete. The last half was 5, 10, 15 and we could cycle through much faster. My time was around 52 minutes.
