It wasn't too much to ask? I'm not sure how much you have to make a year for $1,500 to be an amount so easily given so someone can enjoy a wedding but I clearly am not even close.

I'm curious if the guests' room/flight was to be included in the $1500 or if that was expected as a straight up gift. It kinda sounds like option B.

She should have tried GoFundMe first. She would have had a bigger audience and most likely some folks would be sympathetic to her wish for a big, over-the-top wedding and would contribute freely. I'm just amazed that anyone at all RSVP'd. I certainly wouldn't have. I would have gone to Walmart and gotten her a bathroom rug and mailed it to her as a wedding gift. ;-) This chick was not raised right!
Unfortunately, it seems that the wedding has gotten more important than the marriage these days.

Unfortunately, it seems that the wedding has gotten more important than the marriage these days.
