I understand that we are not required to file a CTR on a business if their employees cash their payroll checks that total over 10,000.00 for multiple people; however is it best to exempt the business if they meet the exemption requirements? what is good practice on this issue?

Exemptions are based on business cash activity. Employees cashing their payroll checks is not a business activity.
