We have a question about businesses that are Chartered. If a business is chartered, does that mean they are a corporation? For example, a group of attorneys are chartered. I haven't found any definitions for charters related to businesses. Please offer any helpful information.

The term has no particularized meaning that I know of and may be unique to your state. Call your Secretary of State's office and ask.

It may just be that the law firm thinks it sounds cool... Ask one of the attorneys who works there if you strike out with the SoS.
