Am looking for some clarity when it comes to BSA reg on addresses. We have a customer who owns a hotel and the address he provided was the hotel's; which is also on his driver's lic. Now he has a home but says he mostly resides at the hotel. When setting up his CIF, is it fine to use his business address as the IRS address, seeing as its on his driver's lic? Is that following compliance as far as BSA is concerned? Or should the residence (his home) be his address on his CIF? Any info to enlightened on this subject would be great. Thank you

The IRS doesn't care which address you use. They just want the guy to pay his taxes. The BSA regs require you to obtain a residential or business address for the guy in the CIP process. He can declare the hotel as his primary residence; owning a home doesn't mean you have to live there. Since you have a driver's license with the hotel address on it, I'd use that address if that's where the customer says he lives.
