Reviewing a potential OFAC hit on a Fraud Guard, real estate company (not our customer) on this particular loan hit on sam.gov..what does this mean to me? First one I have had....Thanks in advance.

P.S. OFAC on borrower was a false positive.

You are testing against lists that you don't know what they are used for?? Are they a federal contractor?

If your customer is not sam.gov, then you have a false positive on your fraud list. Your bank has chosen to run new customers against a fraud database as well as required sanction lists. Very heavy on the false positives in my experience. Still....every now and then I've seen a real hit.

sam.gov is a federal contractor registration system - it is not HLP022010's customer.

Thanks rlcarey and Daisy. Fraud Guard runs against several lists- this is my first experience with this type of hit.

I am sorry- I do know what sam.gov is used for- I just haven't ran across a hit before. Was just looking for guidance, I appreciate your help.

Wonder why your fraud database is checking for federal contractor status. That seems odd. You may have some ability to turn off some lists if you check with your vendor.
