Normally we would code certain loans, like those to a lobster fisherman, as a small farm loan.
Since PPP loans are SBA loans should a loan like this be coded as a "1" small business, rather than a small farm loan?

Seems like everything I read everywhere only mentions PPP as small business loans, nothing about loans to small farms.

The key is what call report code it would fall under. Is the loan for commercial and industrial purposes, or for agricultural production and other loans for farmers?

Well as with any PPP loan the idea was that 75% of the loan would be used for providing salary support to employees, and then 25% would be used to support other business expenses. I'm sure our staff coded these as a 4 on the Call report, I'm just not sure I agree with that idea. At this point the loans are dropping off the call report as many are payed off, or will be soon.

If they are coded a 4 on the call report, then they are reported as a 1 for small business. Even if they aren't on the call report any more.
