Earlier this year the FFIEC posted changes to the 2019 Census file on its website. The changes identified by the FFIEC don't include changes in MSA's or MD's whose county composition changed. The changes on the FFIEC website are largely limited to MSA/MD name or code change.

My company has obtained from the FFIEC a detailed list of the MSA's and MD's with changes to their county composition. Many of these changes also affect the statewide non-MSA areas. Also, we have been able to identify more than 30 states where the statewide non-MSA composition has changed.

The implications of the foregoing are that the potential changes to tract income class are much greater than indicated by the changes identified on the FFIEC website. My company will be sending out an email notice in the next day regarding this.

Based on the foregoing we suggest you review the 2019 Census demographics file as soon as it is released by the FFIEC, expected to be at the end of August or early September.
