I posted this in the Texas forum, but maybe this would be more appropriate.

My niece lives in Dallas area and is hopelessly in debt. Does anyone know of a reputable credit couseling organization the could set up a debt management plan?

Pulling people out of the ditc...
consumer credit counseling services is a non-profit and a good one...but the first thing they do is make you cut up all your credit cards and then put a block on your credit report stating that no new cards should be issued...many back away from that.

I second CCCS... did joint work with them years back, being the banker to assist in the classes they ran to reintroduce their clients back into mainstream banking channels.

Very good organization!
