I know there is another weight watchers thread, but it seems to have gone off into an exercise mode. I was just wondering if anyone had used the online version and anything they found helpful. I've got to do something and just trying to do it myself isn't working. Of course this is a bad time as I will be finishing up about 2 dozen Blarney Stones tonight! There go any extra points allowed! Ha!

All you need to know about successful weight loss is that everything contains artificial raspberry flavoring.

...and then you have to poke around her butt to find those glands and make sure she doesn't bite or gnaw your arm off and you really don't want to accidentally mistake the anal glands for whatever those other "raspberry flavoring" glands were called because my wife cleans our dogs' (yes, plural) anal glands when bathing them and sometimes they spurt and it's really not a pleasant experience to be in the bathroom while that is going on....

Where the heart is
Here's the most effective weight loss technique that I have found:

Avoid sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and added sucrose/fructose in your food. Also stay away from processed wheat products, rolled oat products, pasta, white rice and potatoes (sweet potatoes are okay though.) Cut out soda (even diet soda) and fruit juices. If you want fruit juice, just eat the whole fruit.

If you can cut those and processed foods out of your daily food, you WILL see those pounds start to fall away.

In other words, don't eat anything that tastes good. Ha!

Ha! I am not sure I eat unprocessed food, other than a few veggies and fruits, although I am not sure they didn't go through some kind of process.

It was so much easier when there was someone else to cook for. Cooking for one is not easy unless you want to eat the leftovers for a week or more.

When my son isnt home (every other week) I eat the same think every day for lunch and dinner. I make it on Sunday or Monday and have enough for the week. I eat much healthier that way. It's when he wants pizza, pasta, etc that I get in trouble.

Amen to that Mum! I grilled a whole bunch of sausages Saturday night and have eaten nothing else since, with one more meal to go in which the main ingredient is, you guessed it, sausage!

We have this problem with two of us. We apparently aren't smart enough to cut down the recipes, and having learned portion control has made the quantity of leftovers even larger. Sometimes we put meals into tupperware and freeze them, just so we're not eating the same thing all week long. And sometimes we find things in the back of the fridge that have aged a bit. I ate some tuna lasagna Saturday that we couldn't quite determine which day, or week, we had made it. We don't like to throw anything away.

Pulling people out of the ditc...
weight watchers is about learning to make healthy choices and portion control...if you're a disciplined person, doing it online should be easy. If you aren't disciplined, it won't help.

When cooking for yourself, just buy smaller ingredients, it is easy to cut down a recipe by 1/2, or 3/4.
