We are a small institution (about 60 employees). Today we had an employee lose her husband and another lost her mother. Our hearts are all aching and it's a reminder of how precious life is and to not take those we love for granted.

Life is so fragile. I saw a sign once that said

Live you life as if
Today was your first day
Today was your last day
Today was your only day.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the families.

My whole life changed within two years When I look back now, it all seems surreal. Life is ever so precious. I tell people to live life and not let life live them. Agree with the title of this forum."Go home and hug your family and friends."

I love that message. I may put that up somewhere to be reminded too.

After unexpectedly losing my sister last weekend I agree. My family did not grow up saying ‘I love you’. It was implied. I only spoke these words to my husband and my son. I can tell you over the last 6 days this has changed dramatically.

Make sure your friends and family know what they mean to you. We don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow.

Having lost both of my brothers unexpectedly, I fully relate. My family and friends may actually get tired of hearing me say, "I love you."

Thank you all. We buried her today. She had just turned 60 and way too young.
