Customer has 2 CD's titled in the name of his trust (ex. John Doe Trust Dated 1/1/2008). He is closing the CD's and is opening 2 new CD's in the name of his wife's trust (ex. Mary Doe Trust Dated 1/1/2008). How does the customer endorse the back of the check to use the funds to open the new CD? Would he endorse the back John Doe Trust DTD 1/1/2008 payable to Mary Doe Trust DTD 1/1/2008?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing he's the Trustee of both Trusts and entitled to open the 2nd account? Even if he wasn't, I would think what you suggest would be the appropriate transition. The funds in the 1st trust should be made payable to his Trust, then he endorses it as Trustee of that one, and makes it payable to the other Trust.

Actually he is the trustee of his trust and his wife is the trustee of her trust. So, I'm thinking he would endorse the back John Doe Trust DTD 1/1/2008 payable to Mary Doe Trust DTD 1/1/2008 and his wife would then have to sign the back as well or could we just do tickets and not worry about cutting a check?

You'd have a clearer audit trail by having the customer sign the documents and not doing internal tickets. Just my opinion...
