I just read an artical on the Bof A law suit that said "effects Last year the Federal Reserve imposed a rule that prohibits banks from charging overdraft fees on electronic and debit card transactions without advance customer approval."

I thought it was on debit cards only did I miss something? I don't remember reading anything about electronic payments – ACH and Bill pay.

Was this a misprint in the article or what?

The Reg E rules apply to ATM withdrawals and one-time debit card transactions. It does not apply to recurring ACH. I don't think it applies to bill pay unless the bill pay is accessed through the debit card (ie I pay my utility bill at the utility company's website using my debit card on a one time basis). Bill pay through your own bank website wouldn't be included as far as I know.
