Has anyone used or uses a stamp for tellers to put on checks when they are cashing. The stamp would be a quick reference stamp, that would put a line for them to write down Identification, or list if the customer is known, and a maybe a check box that they would check after they verifed funds are available?

Anyone that has experience with this, please let me know.

or if you would use this and add your own twist, how you would do that?

Thanks in advance

We use Jack Henry's Vertex teller system and it pretty much puts most of this information on the back of the check. Vertex also halts the teller with messages, funds available, stop payments, halts, etc. and they must answer (which give a paper trail) etc. The teller would have to write the ID information on the back of the check.

Our tellers use cash out tickets that have space on them for the information. We no longer place ID on the check itself.
