Are MMDAs considered a savings product or a checking product? Should they be listed with savings or checking on the TIS disclosure?

Technically for call report and reserve purposes they are savings accounts. What you might call or label your MMDA products is up to you.

I still remember the teller who corrected me when I called the MMDA a savings account: "No sir, this is not a savings account, it's a money market deposit account."

The term money market deposit account is outmoded; I would not use it or the acronym in my TISA disclosures.
