Good morning,
Need some clarification on the 10 day Reg E stipulation for resolution or providing provisional credit. It is our understanding that the date of notification is Day 1 and the issue needs to be resolved within 10 business days following that date. EX: Member calls on August 3, 2020. That claim needs to be resolved or PC granted by the EOD August 14, 2020.

We received conflicting information that the date of notification is Day 0 and we actually have until August 17, 2020 to resolve/issue credit. Which timeline is correct? We have read the Reg and are still uncertain.

Thanks,
Michelle

Out Contact Center is open 7 days/week, but we only process disputes on business days. I thought business days followed the days the Federal Reserve is open.

1005.2(d) “Business day” means any day on which the offices of the consumer's financial institution are open to the public for carrying on substantially all business functions.

If you are not open on Saturdays, then if you received the notification on 08/03/20, then provisional credit would have to be provided no later than 08/17/20, which is 10 business day from when you received the notification.
