A Grant Wood painting.
I just finished an aggravating conversation with Deluxe.

They have not tested any of their checks to find out if some of the designs are difficult to image.

They have no intention of testing the designs to find out if some should be changed or deleted from their offerings.

“It is the customer’s decision what type of check they purchase.”

Am I the only one that finds this irresponsible?

One of the reasons we switched to Clarke American! (Better customer service!) They and we tested their checks and all of them (to my knowledge) image well - even the ones with "busy backgrounds".

One of our CSRs called Deluxe yesterday and they informed her that all checks are "fine". Deluxe said that since no other banks have complained they must be OK. The deluxe rep said she worked at a bank that had imaging and none of the checks had imaging problems.

We image and use Deluxe. There have not been any problems. But, I will tell you that colored pens are harder to read on checks. Black and Blue work the best.

We also have had no problems with Deluxe checks but have had some problems with imaging checks that have been signed with gel pens and/or colored inks, especially orange and red.

According to my 64 box of crayons, black and blue are colors too!
