Some banks have been sending out small checks to customers asking them to try their mobile deposit apps by depositing the checks to their account at the bank. Does anyone see an issues if on the face of the check it states that it is only payable by depositing to the maker bank via its mobile deposit app? Would that be enforceable under the UCC? It does not seem the same as a restrictive endorsement since it is not placed by the holder. Or does the bank just take the chance that a handful of the checks may get deposited to some other bank? Thanks
