On the credit reports the format we get has a section listed as AKA's/ALIASES. Most of the stuff is middle initials, nick names, dad/son ss.

What do you do when you cannot figure out why there are different ss numbers or different names? What proof do you request from the borrower

How greatly do they differ?

They are so different. On mortgages we can verify through a w-2 but on consumer loans it is more difficult and most people would be unhappy.

Most uf the loan customers are long term and cip was done with no problem With the red flags we have to do so much.

Doesn't anyone else see this on their credit reports?

Do you guys have any type of vendor that runs your info through different databases to help verify cust. info? (Like Qualafile)
I think there is a website to where you can enter the social and find out if the numbers coincide with the years issued. That might help you???

The applicant might be unhappy but try explaining that it's for their protection. That your FI is dedicated to making sure all consumers are protected from fraud. They could go elsewhere and have someone not care and dull out thousands of dollars under their name and credit but your FI cares enough not to put them at risk.

Rizzo,

Thanks for your thoughts. We believe the information given to us is the correct information because the numbers listed are so different from what we are reporting for other accounts. I am trying to figure out what should be acceptable for an examiner and what is a good document to request that won't be to much of a problem for the borrower to produce.
