I was wondering if you receive a substitute check and some of the writing isnt legible what kind of procedures you. would follow to get that clarified? I am guessing you would just call the originator of the check and verify the information with them but i was just curious as to any other options.

I would say you simply follow the same procedures you would for an original check with the same problem. The fact that its a substitute check shouldn't make any difference.
