Hello, I'm being tasked with coming up with a list of Regulations that impact charge offs and recoveries. I'm curious if anyone else can think of additional Regulations that impact these areas. I'm assisting in building a risk assessment and this is why the Regulations are needed. This is what I have been able to identify so far:
• Federal Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
• Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
• Fair & Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA) - Regulations V
• Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP)
• Telephone Communications Protection ACT (TCPA)
• Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act (RESPA) – Reg X

I can't offer specifics, but look into GAAP and tax rules/regs...and, of course, state law.
