I was wondering how long i should keep all documentation relating to my complaince reviews and audits at the bank? My instinct tells me i should retain them from the previous exam until the next exam but i am not sure.

That's generally what we do. However, there are some audits that have specific retention periods (Freddie Mac QA auidt--3 years, ACH annual self-audit--6 years).

You also might want to check to see if the state of Illinois has specific retention requirements. Some states do and some don't.
