Our mortgage lender wants to offer the employees of a local business in town a mortgage loan closing cost discount. The discount will be available to any employee and not based on a relationship with the bank. I am wondering about fair lending implications. Do other banks offer a program like this?

At a prior bank, we did this for certain businesses. Typically, so long as it's open to any of them and they are a diverse business, you should not run into any issues...or at least ours was not criticized.
