Big Brother knows and that's a...
This may be a stupid question. But, here goes...

We had our first bank robbery (the last one was in the 1800's- by horseback) right before Christmas.

I thought I read somewhere that we are required to file a SAR for a bank robbery, however I cannot find anything stating that fact now. Did I just dream this up? Also, the Security Officer thought the same thing, and the BSA officer also doesn't have any clue.

Does anyone know???

May I suggest you go here and read the information.

http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2422/...31cfr103.18.htm

The area on Page 214, paragraph (f) tells you what you're looking for.
We asked the same question when we were first robbed.
Good Luck

You are not required to file a SAR for a bank robbery that is reported to law enforcement. The BOL Q&A's cite the specific section in Regulation H, and provide guru explanations.

Try this www.bankersonline.com/operations/gurus_op03a.html
