If two bank's merge and they decide to submit separate HMDA LARs for the year of the merger, can the bank that's being dissolved submit their HMDA LAR soon after the merger date, if it's in the middle of a calendar year, or do they have to wait until year-end to submit their LAR?

That's a good question and one I could not find addressed in the Reg. or the GIR. I know of no reason why it could not be submitted early but, you should contact your regulator, not HMDA Help, and ask them. It will be my guess they will instruct you to wait until Jan 1st.

I contacted my regulator, as you suggested Dan, with this question. They told me to contact HMDA help as they didn't know. HMDA help told me to wait until January 1, 2007 to submit 2006 HMDA data.
