Could anyone tell me what the range of scores should be on the new adverse action notices (for the credit score range). I think it is 300-900 (typically) but have found some with 0 - 850. Not sure this is exactly wrong, so I would appreciate any input to support either requesting this be changed or leave alone.

Thank you.

Each of the credit bureaus have different ranges. It might be in the information they send to you with the report - if not call up your rep.

So, should the range be the same as what is provided on the risk-based notice (if given)?

There is a universal credit score, but from the same CRA there are usually specialized scores for mortgage, auto, etc. depending what the bank had contracted for.

The following are from the individual company's websites.

From Equifax
The Equifax Credit Score uses a numerical range of 280 to 850, where higher scores indicate lower credit risk. The FICO Score uses a numerical range of 300 to 850, where higher scores also indicate lower credit risk.

From Experian
. Your Experian credit score ranges from 330 to 830.

From Trans Union
Your VantageScore is a three-digit number ranging from 501-990.

Interesting, the score ranges I quoted are directly from the automated credit score disclosure generated from our credit report provider. Since this report is provided to the applicant also, we use these same ranges on our AANs to be consistent. It provides the same ranges for mortgages and personal loans.
