Hello - In our bank platform, ITI, we have not yet utilized the following collateral related fields.
1. Owner Occupied Code
2. Property Type Code
3. Collateral Code

I am going to have these fields set up (ITI calls them data descriptions) so that we can more effectively report on our loans, specifically real estate loans. Can any of you share with me how you have these fields coded along with the associated descriptions? TIA!
FYI - for call report items we are currently only using Purpose Codes. These new fields are more for my benefit to monitor concentrations and other credit risk management related reports.

1. Owner Occupied, Second Home or Non-Owner Occupied
2. we don't use
3. too numerous to list. If you send me a pm with your contact email I'll send you the list.

Call Code: we decided to add a Flex Field to capture this field.

1 - Owner Occupied, Non-Owner Occupied, OO Residence, OO 2nd Home
2. 1st lien, 2nd lien, AOC
3. Same as Cowboys Fan. We have four digit codes that define the collateral based on type, lien position, owner-occupied, etc.

I use some of the codes for reporting, but they aren't really used for call reporting at all.

Just a heads up, make sure that however you set them up, it will be right for the bank. I've had to change coding twice at banks and it's a pain, even if you can make it work with a Foxtrot run via ITI.

I've sent you both a PM

I plan to follow the same path you've both outlined for owner occupied, but I might differentiate between residential and commercial in my categories.

Property Type code was throwing me for a loop. We may not use it for now.

I look forward to more info on collateral codes.

Some banks use property type (or a custom code) to break out property types for concentration/risk management:

shopping centers, car washes, hotels, etc.
