Does anyone use the MPF Program to sell loans to FHLB? If so, what code do you use for purchaser type for HMDA reporting? Is it a 7 (Life insurance company, credit union, MORTGAGE BANK or finance company) or 9 (Other)?

Right or wrong, we've been using a 9.

We report as a 9 -other.

We sell our secondary market loans to Wells Fargo and GMAC only. We code both of these as 9. does anyone know if this is correct?

You need to call Wells Fargo and GMAC and as them how to code this. Per our fed examiner, this call should be made annually to confirm that they haven't changed.

Ex: In 2003, one of our investors was 9 but in 2004, due to mergers and acquisitions, they changed to a 7.
