Getting nitpicky, however, the Card reg says 21 days. So, do we count day 1 as the day the bill goes in the mail? Also I am seeing a range of 21 to 24 days appearing in threads, etc. Why 24 and not 21? For example, for the due date on your bill, you are counting day 1 as mailed date so, assuming you mailed the bill on the 1st, your due date on the bill is....what? The 21st, the 22nd, the 23rd????

We're doing 24 to make certain that, even in the event of a weekend, the customer has 21 days to make the payment. For example, if we left it at 21 days and created the billing statment Friday night, it would not be mailed until Monday...using up some of the 21 day period.

We are using 24 - 21 days plus 3 days in case something happens with getting them out, the hardware breaking down, etc.

FWIW, we have settled on 24 days as well. The new law requires 21 days from the mail or delivery date, not the statement cut-off date. Like pacar pointed out, we could have times when the statement cuts off Friday night, but won't actually be "mailed or delivered" until Monday (or, if a holiday, Tuesday!), so we built in the cushion.

Thats what we did as well - we would especially have a problem over Columbus Day weekend so we opted for 24 to be safe since it says at least 21 days prior.
