I'm looking for insight on how others handle the requirement to document the MLO # on internet applications. Do you list the Bank's NMLS # on the application?

OK
You need to get the number on the application once you know which MLO is handling the loan. It doesn't have to be on there when you hand the application to the borrower.

Similar question. If we originate a mortgage loan on the internet and it automatically generates the Loan Estimate for us. A loan originator didn't technically originate that loan, so do we leave it blank or select one of our lenders to be on all Loan Estimates.

Exactly. I don't know how they can justify leaving it blank unless their justification is that the loan originator didn't originate the loan. What do think? There's just not any guidance for these situations.

I saw an FAQ about Fannie/Freddie, but it was talking about 1003 applications. It said you could fill in the NMLS # once the loan was assigned to a loan originator.

There are no provisions in TRID to leave that information blank.
