Here is the scenario: Non-local check deposited through ATM or night drop for $600. Check is not a "special" check. Procedure manual states bank can hold full amount because it was not deposited in person. I believe 229.10 (c)only extends the hold by one day for "special" checks and has nothing to do with the $100 rule. I believe in the above example, we must make $100 available by the next business day, correct? $500 can be held for 5 days.
