Title: Re: Courtesy Overdraft program
|
A courtesy overdraft program is a program in which the bank has placed a set limit of how far they will pay a customer into overdraft before returning items. Generally, these systems are automated and the computer will pay all items up to that limit before a live person sees an item to decision over the limit.
An ad hoc program is where the bank has no set limit for overdrafts, but they look at every item presenting against insufficient funds and decide where to pay it or return based on customer history, etc.
