We have a customer who charged $1800 on their MasterCard for Catering Services in February 2022. Services were supposed to be rendered in April 2023. All going along fine. Customer on Jan 30 calls us and wants to claim services not rendered dispute against transaction because they received message from Catering Company that they were going out of business and would not be able to provide the service.
I'm being asked if we can deny the claim since the transaction occurred more than 60 days since the initial statement posting? I hesitate giving the okay as this is not really a billing error.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to deny the claim?
