As today passes, Andy will contribute his 10,000th post to this online community--an amazing accomplishment! If BOL has a "lifetime achievement award," this is a nomination for Andy to be its first recipient. It's wonderful to be part of an industry that places such a high value on sharing for the common good--but it hasn't always been this way.
From the birth of Reg. Z until the mid-1990s, peer groups were local. Compliance officers and other banking specialists could only engage in very limited professional discussions without violating anti-trust laws. Nationwide peer exchange could only occur at expensive conferences several time zones away. With the Internet and pioneers like Andy, all of that has changed.
Please join me in congratulating Andy as we celebrate a milestone in banking!
