New Deposit Accounts

Just curious if any of you obtain the signature of a "potential" new depositor before pulling a credit report or report from ChekSystems? If so, do you request the potential customer to complete some type of deposit account application?

We use an application to document the customer's request to establish a relationship with the bank. We don't call ChexSystems or pull Equifax report before app is signed.
