security camera tape - 06/25/20 04:44 PM

We have been asked by an individual (noncustomer) to provide any security camera tape that might show a traffic accident on a street close to the bank.

I do not want to release any security tape we may have without a subpoena. I am correct?

You are correct. No need to get involved unless the bank has a pressing desire for the extra work and possible headaches. We always respond that we are happy to provide that information once we have received a subpoena.

Definitely not. We never release footage to a customer or non-customer.

Make sure you are following your retention policy for the tapes. Last thing you want to happen is find out you have tapes outside your retention policy and then have to provide them.

Also, I suggest that you at least preserve any relevant video that you may have, in anticipation of a forthcoming subpoena.
