Business Records / Vital Records - 07/30/04 04:17 PM

As far as banks are concerned, does anyone know what constitutes business or vital records under South Carolina and/or Federal law?

I'm not sure if I understand what you are looking for, however, I would define business or vital record as any record required to be maintained according to any federal or state law. This could range from deposit & withdrawal tickets to the bank's financial statements and everything in between. Banks are required to maintain a wide list of records for various periods of time. Almost every regulation has a retention requirement.

What is the retention schedule for video surveilance tapes in South Carolina? In reviewing SC Code of Laws Title 34, Chapter 3 , Article 7 (Retention of Records)it does not give a list.
