Appraisal - recert of value

An appraiser indicated that re-certifications of value are no longer performed in IL due to recent regulatory changes.

Are there any options available without going through the expense of a new appraisal?

I would check with the local regulatory agency and make sure that the appraiser didn't misinterrupt some recent advisory opinion. If they did present such a new ruling, maybe they could suggest what they would accept in lieu of a recert.
