Clash of the Choirs

Anyone watching Clash of the Choirs this week? It is quite awesome.

I am. I really like Team Labelle, but didn't think their first performance last night was one of their best. I enjoy all of them. I was really surprised that Team Bolton got voted off. I figured it would have been Team Shelton.

My husband and I caught it on Tuesday. The performances we saw (Labelle, Shelton, Lachey) were awesome.

I've been watching it. I love Patti LaBelle. When she sang "Over the Rainbow" last night - it was bone chilling!

They are all great! That a capella song done by Team Lachey was neat.

And after Patti LaBelle kicked off her shoes during her song Team Shelton decided that everyone should kick their shoes off when they got done. That cracked me up!

Very technical, and pretty well done. I'm hopeful that Lachey gives some public recognition to his arranger...Steve Zegree is a professor of music at Western Michigan University, and he's an accomplished choral arranger & jazz pianist. He directs (and founded) WMU's internationally-recognized vocal jazz ensemble "Gold Company", and the arrangements & choreography we saw last night match what he's been doing with that group for the last 20+ years.

But only after the MC kicked hers off after Patti finished singing AND after Nick kicked his off after his choir finished.

I'm voting all the way for the Cincinnati Childrens Hospital. However, Patti's team is the strongest, and Patti absolutely BLEW ME AWAY with how well she can still sing after all these years.

Patti LaBelle has an amazing voice. She is a Philadelphia girl, my neck of the woods.
