BMV Commissioner Ron Stiver said Thursday more than 1.6 million people have selected the "In God We Trust" plate since it became available in January 2007 as one of more than 75 options for motorists.

"The BMV will continue its policy to offer all plate designs without promoting any one license plate design over another and will continue to offer the IGWT plate design at no additional charge, as outlined by the Indiana General Assembly," Stiver said.

The enviro wacko request was not among the 75 options, end of story

Actually Pale, the issue is over the $15 admin fee that is required for all other vanity plates except the "In God We Trust" plate.

The legislature wrote the law saying this plate was a standard, not a vanity plate, but that may be prohibited by Indiana's constitution.

Headline is pretty misleading, since the impression given is that ACLU wanted to remove the "God" license plate, but again, we all know only CBS is biased.
